1st National Inter-School Android Challenge
Recently I have joined in the “1st National Inter-School Android Challenge (Building Mobile Social Applications of Tomorrow)” together with my two team-mates - Jan and Brent. Go Team!
This event is hosted by the Net-Centric Computing Laboratory of De La Salle University College of Computer Studies, together with Google and Globe Telecommunications, Inc.
The primary goal in this contest is that every contestants should make usable or productive applications or games for Android phones. It also motivates students to appreciate, be aware and start to deal with open source applications/products.
The contestants must know Java language and XML, so we have to study to fully understand and implement an app in the Android OS. The OS has it’s own set of functions and features. Need to study an API too for the application that we are developing. A lot things to know and to do.

By the way, Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as cellular phones, tablet computers and netbooks. Android was developed by Google and is based upon the Linux kernel and GNU software. It was initially developed by Android Inc. (a firm later purchased by Google) and lately broadened to the Open Handset Alliance. (Wikipedia.org)

Were on La Salle Manila, located in one of their auditorium. I am at the back by the way. Hope we’ll be productive and finish the application before the deadline. Good luck to all the contestants!
